Wine by Bike Routes

On Yer Bike Winery Tours is a fun and healthy way to see and enjoy the countryside that is the world-renowned Ngatarawa Triangle grape growing region on the scenic Heretaunga Plains in Hawkes Bay. The cycling experience includes the Gimblett Gravels appellation.

You can choose a wine tour route to match your level of fitness. Up to seven wineries can be visited on a self-guided tour using the map provided. All offer the opportunity to taste the wines and have outside seating where a visitor can enjoy the superb settings before moving on.

The mobile phone supplied ensures that riders are always in range of back-up and support.

Some cycling is 'off-road' through vineyards, and an olive grove.

Wineries to Visit

The distance from home base at Rosser Rd Woolshed to the first winery is 20 – 25 minutes by cycle. The wineries are well spaced from there on, for the perfect balance between exercise, scenery and wine tasting.

The wineries included on the route are: Ngatarawa Wines, Triangle Red Tasting Centre (representing Bush Hawk and Bridge Pa), Salvare Estate, Te Awa Winery, Trinity Hill Wines, Sileni Estates, Alpha Domus and Abbey Cellars.
